VHF/UHF
I currently use a Yeasu FT-60R HT as my main 2m/70cm radio. I purchased this radio at the W9UVI Midwest Superfest in 2016.
It is normally paired with either a cheap eBay rubber ducky, a Diamond RH77CA , or a mag-mount antenna on my vehicle. This radio is also has the infamous MARS/resistor-mod.
I also have a Quansheng UV-K6 as a backup radio for myself and as a second radio for GMRS with my family.
HF
My main base station is the Yaesu FT-710 AESS, powered by an Astron RS-35A-AP power supply. This is a 100W HF/6m all mode, full SDR radio. I use a Heil Pro Set 6 headset paired with the AD-1-YM adapter and a DX Engineering foot pedal.
My other base station HF rig is a Kenwood TS-120V, powered by an Astron RS-7A. The TS-120V is a 10W CW/SSB transceiver which covers the 80m, 40m, 20m, 15m, and 10m bands. For being over 40 years old, the TS-120V is an excellent performer, with good receive and transmit despite the low power. I also have QRP-Labs QCX-Mini built for 20m CW operation.
For digital modes, I use a QRP-Labs QDX transceiver. Normally, I will operate on FT8. The QDX was ordered as a kit and built by myself for 20m-80m operation (it is worth noting that there is a 10m-20m variant as well). Max TX power is 4-5 watts, depending on input voltage.
My QRP-Labs QMX+ does digital and CW from 6m – 160m. This is becoming my main CW/Digi rig at home base, while the smaller QDX and QCX-mini are preferred for field use.
I pair my HF radios with a 49:1 balun and a 80m-10m EFHW antenna hung in an “L” configuration in my back yard. At a decent height, this antenna has allowed me to DX with SA and EU. I also have MFJ ham sticks (40m, 20m, and 10m) for POTA in a single vertical arrangement.
